Professional Development Hours (PDH) Requirements

Continuing education for licensed Professional Engineers in Indiana

Professional Development Options, the parent of NoonPi, is approved by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency as a provider of continuing education for professional engineers (#CE22000003).

Here is a summary of the engineering continuing education requirements mandated by the Indiana State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

30 hours biennially

July 31 of even-numbered years

Board Approval

Professional Development Options, parent company of NoonPi, is an approved provider of continuing education for Indiana Engineers (Approval #CE22000003). All courses must enhance the professional knowledge and skills of the engineer.

Approved Content

  1. At least one PDH must be in ethics applicable to the practice of engineering.
  2. And at least one PDH must be on the subject of Indiana’s engineering laws and rules.

Otherwise, there are no specific restrictions on course content. In general, the course must be “designed to directly enhance a professional engineer’s knowledge and skill in providing services relevant to the practice.”

Approved Activities

Distance learning courses are specifically listed as approved activities. There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through distance learning.

PDH Carryover

A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.

Notes

  1. Appropriate methods of evaluation shall be devised and used to measure the continuing education course’s effectiveness. PDHengineer meets this requirement by providing an online quiz for online courses that is graded automatically. Webinars contain a short survey at the end, which is used to assess the extent to which the presentation’s learning objectives were achieved.
  2. The sponsor of the continuing education course shall provide to the participants a meaningful record of attendance stating the continuing education hours involved, such as a certificate of completion. PDH completion records must be maintained by the licensee for a minimum of 3 years. NoonPi ensures that you meet this requirement by providing you with the ability to instantly access and print a certificate upon successful completion of a course or webinar. Additionally, your certificates of completion are securely maintained by NoonPi for a minimum of ten years and can be accessed online at any time through your login account.
