To meet the Ohio Board's intent that online courses be "paced" by the provider, a timer will be used to record your study time. You will be unable to access the quiz until the required study time of 60 minutes has been met.

This course offers information and actionable steps to help you navigate the uncertainty that naturally comes with the transition from engineer to manager.
Master the interpersonal, communication, and management strategies you need to successfully transition from technical expert to manager. In this webinar you will learn to manage your time, communicate effectively, and build resilient teams. The transition to engineering manager is one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences an engineering manager can face. The challenges reside in being a new type of professional; one who must empower instead of control while learning to mobilize individuals in support of shared goals, even when they have conflicting viewpoints. The ultimate challenge comes from learning to make progress in an entirely new way; from relying on yourself to deliver results to motivating others to realize collective results. The reward is confident teams who demonstrate their ability to work well independently and together as a group to realize goals.
This course is designed to enhance participant’s management skills with a focus on developing foundational skills including communication, self-awareness, and empathy. It also aims to guide highly skilled technical professionals to assume responsibility for their professional development and explores the importance of training, mentoring, and lifelong learning.
