Overview
This course covers the use of Excel in engineering. You will need a recent version of Microsoft Office or Microsoft Excel to follow examples in the course. You do not need prior knowledge in the use of Excel. The course covers terms used in Excel and the user interface.
You will learn how to make a worksheet and chart sheets (graphs) in Excel. The examples cover rectangular, semi-log and log-log graphs. The course covers many of the built-in Excel functions for converting units, statistics, and those used to solve simultaneous equations. It even covers how to insert special characters into Excel spreadsheets.
This course is an excellent starting point for new Excel users or for those who just need a refresher on the basic functions of the program. Excel 2007 is used for the illustrations in the course, however the functions discussed are applicable for any version of the program.
