In Fundamentals of System Engineering Management: Volume I - Systems Engineering Process, you'll learn ...
- An introduction to the systems engineering problem-solving process system
- Some traditional techniques used in the process
- The process of requirements analysis, functional analysis and allocation, design synthesis, and verification
- The documentation developed as the finished output of the systems engineering process
Overview
This course series is divided into three volumes. This course, Volume I, describes the systems engineering process and includes an overview of system engineering and delves into requirements analysis, functional analysis, design synthesis, verification, and process outputs.
Volume II explains the analysis and control functions of system engineering which includes work breakdown structures, configuration management, technical reviews, trade studies, modeling, metrics and risk management. Volume III discusses system engineering planning, organizing, integration, and contractual considerations for large projects.
This volume is a two hour course that introduces you to the systems engineering problem-solving process, and discusses in basic terms some traditional techniques used in the process. An overview is given, and then the process of requirements analysis, functional analysis and allocation, design synthesis, and verification is explained in some detail. This course ends with a discussion of the documentation developed as the finished output of the systems engineering process.
