Mark Knarr, P.E., CDT, CEM, LEED AP BD+C, PMP, CCEA, GPCP

Mark Knarr, P.E., CDT, CEM, LEED AP BD+C, PMP, CCEA, GPCP received a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1999, and an MS in Engineering Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in 2003. His areas of expertise include water quality, hydrology, environmental law, and construction.

Mark served as a civil engineering officer in the US Air Force from 2001-2009 in various locations such as Qatar, Italy, Germany, and Alaska. His duties included environmental compliance and writing environmental assessments; project management at the Air Force Center for Engineering & Environment (AFCEE), and Chief of Engineering during a deployment to Al Udeid Air Base. Other positions included Chief of Maintenance Engineering and Chief of Resources at Aviano Air Base (Italy) and Support Officer at Clear Air Force Station, Alaska, with oversight responsibilities for power production, contract quality assurance, and emergency response.

Upon separation from the Air Force in September 2009, Mark started his civilian career as a project engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Ft Wainwright, Alaska, and later served in several locations in Germany before returning to the 673rd Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, where he currently works as a Programmer in the Engineering Flight. His primary responsibility is programming projects related to pavement repair & construction of pavements and utilities. His key achievement was successfully programming a 2-phase, $19 million project to repair the main runway, which was approved for funding in Fiscal Year 2016 and 2017.
