Good summary of significant event.
Jose Montoya |
Excellent article. Well presented, informative. We all should learn from it.
Dean Hannam |
Excellent course. I could not help but think that while secondary to the primary cause of failure, the low ambient temperature (21F) reduced the fracture toughness of the steel, making it more susceptible to failure while in the presence of an existing flaw under tensile load.
Kristin Leese |
Very informative. Good information presented in a digestible manner.
Michael Shannon |
Very interesting and relevant.
David Lee |
Good review of of the environmental, material properties/processing and inspection considerations of structures after erection that need to be considered in the design and future maintenance of engineering structures.
ROGER MAYFIELD |
Well presented material. In depth information.
Ronald Briggs |
A very detailed explanation of the actual collapse and the mechanism of collapse.
Scott Lewkowski |
The course was a great lesson in changes to designs.
Thomas Huffaker |
Very good. Interesting and informative.
Robert Niemietz |
This is a good treatise on how currently unknown processes can result in the loss of structural integrity and furthermore mandates the inclusion of some form of redundancy in design.
David Tillett |
very good study. Learned a lot about SCC and the effects of chemicals on steel members.
John Houck |
I have known about the Silver Bridge failure, but never understood its causes. Thank you!
Dan Norman |
Excellent course, including the added discussions on stainless steel
